My name is Josephine and I am currently completing my Masters degree in History of Architecture at the UCL Faculty of the Built Environment (MA), The Bartlett; prior to which I studied History of Art at the University of Cambridge (BA): 2:1. During my undergraduate degree at Cambridge University I received a grant to spend six months in Mexico City researching Mexican architectural modernism and the development of the urban landscape, working towards an undergraduate thesis that I am currently extending at a postgraduate level. During this time I worked closely with the university of Mexico in their archives department.

I attended a comprehensive secondary school in north London, and achieved straight A* - A qualifications in both my GCSE and A Levels. For the latter I studied History of Art, English and History, and received full marks on both my final History and English A Level exams. My specialities lie in urban, social and aesthetic history, philosophy and socio-economic and socio-political critical theory. I am fluent in all humanities and social science subjects. I have ambitions of becoming an academic, and hope to impart this passion and enthusiasm onto the students I teach, despite any lack of confidence they may have.

Having studied in a boarding school in West Sussex, where I was a deputy-head of house and School prefect, I studied Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge. At university, I encountered a wide variety of disciplines and ways of thinking; from politics, to psychology to history. I completed an MSc degree in Law and Anthropology at The London School of Economics (LSE), during which I worked as an administrator for a legal research network and organised conferences for a international think tank, most notably a conference at the European Union parliament in Brussels.

Following my studies, I worked for the Department for Education in Westminster, where I advised schools on how to progress and collaborate with each other. I also began volunteering with a grassroots educational charity that mentors children from underrepresented communities through organising sports coaching and workshops.

I then went on to teach History at Rugby School, a top-tier boarding school in the Midlands, where I taught students between the ages of 13 to 18 years.
