“It is not the walls that make the city, but the people who live within them. The walls of London may be battered, but the spirit of the Londoner stands resolute and undismayed.”

Wentworth Tutors in London
Wentworth Tutors is one of London's leading private tutoring agency. We supply home tutors to families all across London and the home counties. Normally our private tutors travel to their student's home for the tutoring sessions. However, for older students further out of London we often encourage students and tutors to meet at a mutually convenient location (for example a public library or a University). We also offer group classes in London and skype / shared whiteboard tutoring if you live further afield.
We are a small but premium agency. Since we personally know all of our tutors well we can guarantee to make the best possible match between our clients and tutors. If we don't think we can find you the perfect tutor immediately, we'll tell you as much, but then carry on looking for you. If you're looking for cheap or mid-market tutors with little to no support from the agency beyond the sale process then stop reading now. But if you want the best, the best tutor and the best agency in London drop us a line and we can discuss your particular needs.
Subjects we Cover in London
In London we have private tutors who can teach pretty any school or university subject. Most of our students want help with Maths or Science, and this is where most of our tutors specialise. But we have many excellent tutors who specialise in the humanities and languages. We believe we can tutor pretty much anything, so if you've got an unusual request the feel free to get in touch. We've even been asked to teach the Rubik's cube and Origami!
UK Syllabus & British Exams
In London we have private tutors who can teach pretty any subject at and level in the UK syllabus, from GCSE, A Level and Pre U to 13+, 11+ and primary. Each year we help several students apply to Oxbridge and prepare for their Oxbridge interviews and the STEP exams. Most of our tutors went through the British system as children and then went on to study in Oxbridge or the Russell Group. We are therefore amply qualified to advise you on applications and help you maximise your chances of getting in to your top choice University
US Syllabus & Standardised Tests
We also specialise in the US syllabus and regularly tutor children in the American schools in and around London. Each year we prepare numerous children for the ISEE and SSAT exams and consistenly help students get into their top choice schools. We have helped students gain acceptance to most of the American schools in London and the Home Counties, for example the American School of London (ASL). We also help several older ASL students prepare for their APs and SATs. Our Founder and Head Tutor, Katherine Wiles, grew up in the US system (she went to school in Princeton, New Jersey); as did many of our other tutors.
We work with still more families who are moving to the United States and can help children get into into the top schools in their new area. This year, for example, we helped students gain acceptance into the Los Angeles, Washington DC and Greenwhich Connecticut areas; for example: Harvard Westlake, Roland Park, and Brinmore. We can help with very intensive last minute training - more often than not British families moving out to America only have two or three weeks before their kids need to take the tests.

Anna Harrison – Private Tutor in Central London
I was brought up in Central London where I attended Glendower and St Paul's Girls' School. After that, I went on to read Engineering at Trinity College, Cambridge, before working at Goldman Sachs for the past two and half years. Earlier this year I left the City in order to pursue a long standing interest in Medicine. I have always loved Maths and Science and truly believe that we need to encourage students to continue with their STEM subjects. Having had some fantastic teachers throughout my education I really understand the importance of engaging with students, and ensuring that sessions are fun and in context. Having gone through the UK private school system myself, I am very familiar with the quirks of the British education system, from picking secondary schools at 11 or 13 plus, to navigating the university application system. ...
Samuel Channon – Private Tutor in Greater London
I grew up in Devon and went to a local Grammar School, where I first started tutoring whilst studying for my A-levels. I went on to study Mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge, graduating in 2013 with an MA (1st-class) and MMATH (Merit). I was offered a place at Warwick University to study for my PhD, but ended up changing fields. I am now studying Medicine on an accelerated graduate entry program at Barts and the London School of Medicine, graduating in 2018.
Although I've ended my own career in Maths for now I have never lost my passion for the subject, and enjoy continuing this through tutoring. I've worked with students of all abilities, with the bulk of my experience tutoring Maths and Physics at A-level and GCSE standard. I also tutor Biology and Chemistry, drawing on the past two years I have spent studying Medicine. Studying Medicine has enhanced my tutoring ability, as we spend a considerable amount of time developing our communication skills. ...
Oliver Jackson – Private Tutor in Central London
I recently completed my Natural Sciences degree at Christ's College Cambridge, where for my first two years I read maths, physics, and chemistry. In my final year I received the second highest First in the university in history and philosophy of science. Before Cambridge I went to Oundle School, a private boarding school in Northamptonshire.
After a stint working at the Cabinet Office I am now a studying for my Graduate Diploma in Law. My timetable is flexible and essentially self-managed, giving me lots of time to tutor outside of my legal studies.
I started tutoring my friends and peers while at school and have now been tutoring for around 7 years. In that time I have mostly taught maths, english, physics, chemistry and history at GCSE and A level, but have recently begun more intensive tutoring for the UK's 11+ and 13+ exams. ...
Luke Howarth – Professional Teacher in Central London
I took a teaching post at Harrow School in 2015, teaching IGCSEs in English Language and Literature and delivering lectures to A-level students. I was also made Director-in-Residence and Master-in-Charge of Debating. Earlier that year I graduated with a first class degree in English Language and Literature from Christ Church, Oxford, where I was one of the twelve original Reuben Scholars. My papers in Shakespeare and Beckett for Finals were classed as publishable. Throughout my time at Oxford and Harrow, I have accumulated extensive experience tutoring privately for a range of abilities, from pre-test to university admissions. Although my undergraduate degree was in the arts, I have always nurtured a healthy interest in subjects across the curriculum, having studied Further Mathematics and Physics at A Level, and I am continually excited by the prospect of facilitating the development of a student’s academic pursuits in a variety of disciplines. A constant desire to advance my own knowledge energises me as a tutor, and I believe that communicating this enthusiasm allows me to stimulate both the curiosity and diligence of my tutees. ...
Elizabeth Bamber – Private Tutor in London
I have always been dedicated to success. In 2015, I graduated from the University of Cambridge with first-class honours in Natural Sciences, and was awarded a number of prestigious prizes for my performance. I then went on to study Neuroscience at the University of Oxford, and was awarded a Distinction for my MSc. More recently, I have moved to London to study law, and will begin my training to be a solicitor in 2018.
During my law studies, I am hoping to fill my free time with tutoring, a pursuit that I really enjoy. Over the past few years I have spent hundreds of hours tutoring, and have loved seeing my pupils become more confident and learn to enjoy their studies. I have also taken part in pro bono tutoring, helping to give less privileged students the same opportunities as those who are more fortunate, and acting as a mentor through their school careers. ...
