James Johnston - Private Tutor in London

I graduated from Harvard University in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and now live in the UK where I am currently rowing for the Great Britain Senior team. I have been tutoring students for a number of years, both privately and with various agencies. My main motivation is assisting aspiring students achieve their goals. Although I attended high school in South Africa, I am very familiar with the GCSE and A - Level syllabi, along with the SAT and SAT II exams. I am well versed with the various US entrance exams and the US college application process.

My Approach to Tutoring

I adopt a very patient, process-based approach to tutoring. I aim to create an enjoyable and positive environment which facilitates learning and results. My end - goal is to instill my students with skills that will not only assist them in a particular subject, but with their entire - learning process. I am a strong believer that through hard - work, focus and the right attitude, much can be achieved.

I am a passionate athlete and have won multiple medals at the World Championship level. I avidly seek a balanced lifestyle, and will rarely be seen without a smile.
