I studied Natural Sciences at Pembroke College, Cambridge graduating with a II.I in my Chemistry Master’s and with a first in my Bachelor’s in Natural Sciences. Throughout my four years at Cambridge University, I was awarded the BP prize for Chemistry as well as three Foundation Scholarship awards.
Before Cambridge I attended King’s College School, Wimbledon where I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma, achieving 45 points. Prior to that, I studied at The Tiffin Girls' School where I went on to achieve straight A* in my GCSE's.
I have tutored Chemistry HL & SL, Biology HL and Maths HL to students attending revision camps as well as privately in person or over Skype. Additionally, I have taught A level Biology and Chemistry for five years, with students all achieving fantastic grades and ending up in their chosen University. Lastly, I have been tutoring GCSE Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics for the past five years so am well versed with the syllabus.

My Tutoring & Teaching Experience
I successfully organised a revision camp in spring and summer 2016 at Regents College, London and Bradfield College, Reading respectively. During each course, I was in charge of more than 100 students and 20 staff members, ensuring students received the best possible revision courses.
I have tutored revision courses for Chemistry HL & SL, Biology HL and Maths HL, amounting to more than 400 hours of tutoring. As well as this, I have gone on to tutor students privately, giving them the extra help they needed to achieve their desired grade and working with them to improve their extended essays in Chemistry or Biology.
For the past five years I have mostly focussed on A level, IB and GCSE tuition in all sciences and maths, with students achieving their predictions or above and enabling them to attend their preferred university. As well as this, I have prepared students applying for Oxford and Cambridge in Natural Sciences and Medicine, helping them prepare their personal statements, admissions exams and interview practice.
My Approach to Tutoring
A lot of students find the sciences very boring so I aim to show them the opposite and show them just how important what they study at school is! My lessons are fun and interactive because they incorporate a lot of demonstrations such as the usage of balloons in explaining the 3D shapes of molecules. This not only enthuses students but also helps in learning the material as the demonstrations are very memorable.
All of my lessons are based around the syllabus for that qualification and incorporate exam questions from day one in order to eliminate the fear that surrounds exams. Though I encourage students to learn beyond the scope of the exams, I make sure that first and foremost we're covering all the material needed for them to get the best results possible!
Fun Facts About Me
I'm a keen sports player - at Cambridge I fenced for Cambridge in the match against Oxford and rowed for my college. I have also been playing tennis since I was 8 years old and though a little rusty, I still love playing in my free time.
Music has also played a key role in my life as I completed all piano grades aged 13 and am currently preparing for my piano diploma. I also used to play the violin in a range of ensembles ranging from quartets to large orchestras. Sadly I stopped playing once I got to Uni though!
My Client Testimonials
-
IB Chemistry HL
"Marta went through the syllabus, point by point to ensure everything had been covered. She would explain concepts to me and then ask me questions about those concepts to make sure I had understood everything that had been said. Marta would then choose the adequate questions from papers covering that topic so that I learned how to apply the knowledge to exams at the same time as learning the material." -
