Subjects
We can teach all subjects for all ages. We truly excel in mathematics and the sciences, but we love a challenge and have been asked to tutor everything from the Rubik's cube to McKinsey interview tests. So please contact us if you have an unusual request.
We regularly prepare students for all UK school exams: 11+, 13+, Common Entrance, Scholarship, GCSE, AS, A level, Pre-Us and some of the worlds most challenging maths exams (STEP and IMO). We also specialise in the US syllabus, US standardised tests, and US High School exams, including: ISEE & SSAT, SAT I, ACT, SAT II Subject Tests, Advanced Placement (AP) Exams.
Our Tutors
Our network of tutors is truly invaluable and what sets us apart from other agencies. We only accept the best. All our tutors attended world class universities such as Oxford and Cambridge. Many are qualified teachers, teaching in some of London's top schools, such as Westminster and St Pauls. We closely interview all of our tutors and our founders can personally vouch for all of them as superb role models.
Our tutors are high achievers and all have plenty of experience in the subjects and exams that they teach. But we make sure they balance fun and engagement with targetted and focussed work to ensure their students cover the syllabus and achieve their goals in a stimulating way.
Private Home Tutors
Most of our private or home tutors are based in London and they usually tutor face to face at their students home address (all across Greater London). However, we also provide group classes and Skype-based lessons.
First our Head Tutor will discuss your particular needs, often face to face. Once we understand exactly what you need we will offer to introduce you to a selection of our best tutors, and send you their profiles. We always stay in contact with you and your tutor to ensure everything is progressing smoothly and provide you with detailed feedback (like a school subject report) at the end of each month.
Problem of The Month
Bacterial Eradication
Bacteria are among the smallest living organisms on the planet. They are found in large quantities in almost all places and perform a variety of functions in nature for human uses. What might be some negative consequences for man and nature if bacteria completely disappeared from the face of the Earth?

Pro Bono Education with Wentworth Tutors
Here at Wentworth, we work with students from all backgrounds. Our pro bono initiative focuses on students applying to university who have not necessarily had the support and resources they require. We work with academies and schools based in and around London, and are very proud of making a difference to students at one of the most critical times in their lives. Our pro bono projects are run by Elizabeth Bamber, who has been tutoring since 2011; Elizabeth currently works in Law and is a graduate of St John's College Cambridge, where she studied Neuroscience.
We are currently running a programme to support students through their university applications, with a particular emphasis on those applying to Oxbridge. This involves our excellent tutors delivering workshops on interview preparation and carrying out mock interviews with the students, thus sharing their expert knowledge with individuals who will really benefit from it. Over the last three years we have partnered with several Teach First schools in London.
Watch this space – as we will be adding more details soon. We look forward to sharing our stories of success with you!
Dr Katherine Wiles Speaks in TedX ASL
Dr Katherine Wiles, our founding director recently spoke in the American School of London's TedX Talk. Katherine adressed everyone's nightmare interview question: "Describe a time you faced adversity and how you dealt with it." There are many variants of this question, "Describe a time you failed," "Describe a time you took a risk," and so on, but they're all assessing the same ideas.
Katherine diagnoses the question and explains what it's asking, why interviewers ask it and how to think about answering it. She also dives into some case studies from British and American History and Bob, the naughty schoolboy. So if you're a Junior or a Senior in High School preparing for college interviews, applying for your first job in the milkround, or even an experienced interviewer, we hope you'll enjoy listening to and learn something from Katherine's talk.
