Science Tutoring

Bespoke private tutoring in the sciences at all levels and abilities. Subjects include: Physics, Chemistry, Biolody and Computer Science. Our tutors all studied in world class universities, such as Oxford and Cambridge.

Our Science Tutors

Wentworth Education originated from a group of tutors who studied maths and natural sciences at Trinity College, Cambridge (UK). We take great pride in the ability and the calibre of our science tutors. They all studied the sciences or mathematics at university and many are PhD students and supervisors at top tier universities. They employ the supervision style system to give one-to-one instruction in the most rigorous, efficient and thorough way. Our tutors not only help their students develop the study skills to internalise laws and facts, but also work to instil an understanding of the underlying science. We find that with this combination, students discover that science is fun, rewarding, and tractable.

The majority of our tutors teach all of the sciences up to A Level / high school level. However with our broad reach of high flying scientists and PhD students we can also provide highly specialised and very experienced tutors for any particular topic or subject. Please contact us to discuss your particular needs.

For our younger scientists, our tutors provide the perfect balance of education and enjoyment. For example, a human circuit powered by M&Ms can help explain the flow of electrons through resistors. We combine fun activities like this with some basic scientific theory and problem solving to introduce budding young scientist to the natural world.

Science Tutoring At All Levels

We offer tutoring in all of the sciences at all levels and for all ability levels. Simply contact us for a consultation, or follow the links below to read more about what we offer.

Physics

Whether explaining rotational momentum using the movement of an ice skater or coming up with visual representations to help students grasp vectors, our tutors are experts at breaking down concepts for students.

Chemistry

Our chemistry tutors are experts at explaining the complexities of this subject which can be one of the most conceptually challenging that a student encounters.

Biology

Much like the world around us, biology can seem a vast and incomprehensible subject; our tutors help students to distill the important facts and concepts.

Computer Science

We can teach computer science from school to university level and can help with everything from the fundamental principles of computer science to algorithms and how the internet works.

If you have a special request please feel free to contact us to discuss your needs. We can connect you with specialists in any scientific field, from Medecine to General Relativity.

Early Years/ Educational Play/ Pre-school prep/ Literacy/ Numeracy/ Science | Chloe Myerson

"“A few months before he started school, Vafa was struggling with reading and counting, and had many issues with confidence and behaviour because of this. We engaged Chloë to work with him on the basis of her strong reputation and experience. Chloë helped him hugely - he found confidence and was able to make a very strong start at school, impressing his teachers with his advanced skills. Through educational play, Chloë was able to bring out his natural talent and creativity. Unfortunately, Chloë had to work abroad for a few months. But upon her return we immediately re-engaged her services as Vafa’s permanent tutor - no other tutor was able to cope with Vafa’s exuberant energy and transform it into academic success. She continued working with him for two more years and was consistently charming and punctual. I would have no hesitation in reccomending her wholeheartedly.” Vafa is now successfully studying at the prestigious Trevor-Roberts Preparatory School in Hampstead. " ... I am a fourth year Physics PhD student at UCL. My occupation relies on my ability to understand complex theoretical concepts and explain them to both technical and non-technical experts.

I am a high achiever, obtaining a First Class (Hons) MPhys Theoretical Physics from The University of Sheffield. In my final year I scored the highest grade in the University for "Analytical Dynamics and Classical Field Theory" (93%). Other final year results include 88% in "Advanced Quantum Mechanics" and 84% in "Aspects of Modern Physics". I currently work in theoretical/computational quantum physics looking at electron scattering in molecules. Therefore I have a good grounding in maths, physics and programming.

I studied all three sciences, maths and further maths at A-level. For G.C.S.E I took triple science, maths and electronics (in addition to 7 other subjects).

In addition to my academic experience I have over two years corporate experience. I successfully completed a highly competitive internship and graduate scheme at Barclays Bank PLC, where I worked predominantly in Credit Risk and Credit Risk Modelling. I left the Bank so that I could develop my technical skills, such as, quantitative analysis and programming. Due to my experience working in a professional environment I am also well equipped to advise students how to write CVs and apply themselves to industry or academia. ...
I graduated from Trinity College, University of Cambridge, with an MSc in Chemistry (first class) and a BA in Natural Sciences (first class, ranked 4th/102). Through studying Natural Sciences, I read Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Cell biology in my first year; Maths and Chemistry in my second year; and pure Chemistry thereafter. As an undergraduate, I worked in research groups at the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, and at Harvard University and co-authored papers published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry and in Nature.

Prior to my undergraduate studies, I was a recipient of the Ogden Trust Physical Sciences Scholarship for students from financial disadvantaged backgrounds at the Portsmouth Grammar School, where I attained the highest grades in my year, with 5 A*s at A-level (top 0.1% nationally). My prior education was at a local state comprehensive school.

I am currently a PhD student at Imperial College London, studying mathematical modelling of infectious diseases. Prior to starting my PhD, I worked as a Consultant at the World Health Organization in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative based in Geneva, and as a Management Consultant at Dalberg Global Development Advisors, based in Geneva and then London. ...
I am currently studying engineering at Clare College, Cambridge University. Before this I studied at Eton for five years, where I learnt to refine my own techniques to learn new things quickly and consolidate knowledge through revision efficiently. Over summer I worked at a London start-up called Curve and I am now keen to pursue a career in software engineering and data science. ...
I’m a postgraduate medical student at King’s College London and Bristol University graduate with a passion for a wide range of subjects. Studying humanities to A level, focusing on crop genetics during my undergraduate degree and now working to become a doctor translates well into tutoring a varied curriculum and ensures I’ve had plenty of experience in the process of learning. I'm an enthusiastic tutor; effective tutoring raises children’s confidence and gives them skills which they can take far beyond our sessions, which is my favourite aspect of the job. ...
I am a current graduate student based in London, studying Sustainable Urban Planning & Design. I received my bachelor's in Social Anthropology (with a minor in Environmental Science & Public Policy) from Harvard University in 2015. While at Harvard, I wrote for The Harvard Crimson and The Huffington Post, as well as a variety of other publications. I also conducted research on transportation policy in São Paulo, Brazil for Harvard's Graduate School of Design. I have worked in consulting in New York City, and in the public sector in Stockholm, Sweden.

I have tutored a wide variety of students, from college applicants to high school students in Boston to refugees in Stockholm. I specialize in English tutoring and writing assistance, but have familiarity with all subjects. I speak five languages: Spanish, Swedish, Portuguese, French, and of course, English. I grew up in Portland, Oregon, and am a dual Swedish-American citizen. ...
I have worked with degree level students for years and find tailoring concepts and processes to an individual’s interests exciting. I’m patient and disciplined and enjoy the reward of helping students move past plateaus in their learning, and with a diverse background in many subject areas I can adapt lessons and study to a wide range of individual needs. I am currently working as a doctor and was recently made a teaching coordinator for third year medical students on the Imperial MBBS programme placed at Northwick Park Hospital. ...
I'm a graduate medical student at King's College London, having previously studied Biomedical Science as an undergraduate at Imperial College London.
