My Tutoring & Teaching Experience
In terms of formal tutoring experience, I have mentored students applying for Oxbridge, helped with personal statements and interviews and have experience proof-reading.
I have additionally spent months working with young people with disabilities, including learning disabilities. At university, I was a 'Step-Up Ambassador', responsible for improving access to New College.
My Approach to Tutoring
I am an enthusiastic and engaging person. For my approach to my own work, I am results focussed and ensure I maintain the highest standards. Whilst I try to impart this on my students, I recognise that this may not be the most helpful approach to all. I try my best to adapt to the student, making it a learning process for them as an individual rather than a check-list for how to get the best grades. In my own experience, allowing the time to learn in a style suited to you is the best way to achieve the highest grades, and also retain the knowledge in the future. My tutoring experience has been with academically strong students, but my experience working with young people means I have the patience and ability to work with those that may need some extra support.
Fun Facts About Me
I play netball weekly and love to read psychological thrillers. My interests lie in the intersection between criminality and psychology, and I'm really enjoying exploring this during my Masters.
