Physics Exam Preparation

More often than not, however, we find ourselves helping prepare students for exams. We have helped students prepare for UK exams: 11+ and 13+ Science, GCSE Physics, A Level and Pre-U Physics; and for US courses: AP Physics B, AP Physics C (Mechanics and Electricty and magnetism).

For exam preparation programmes we recommend intense and focused revision sessions where we immediately drill down to identify the exam question types and topics the student is having most trouble with. We start by reviewing student homework, practice tests and mock exams (we can help set these if needed) and identifying question types where the student is struggling most. We then work through these question types and topics one by one, solving multiple variations of the same question with the student, until they are comfortable and confident to answer them on their own, in exam conditions. We prioritise confidence building, exam technique and teaching the ability to break down questions and answer exam questions efficiently and effectively. In the final few sessions before a big test we discuss exam day tactics and what questions a student should leave until last and which ones they should tackle first.
